Jarvis Portrait - FINISHED!!

At last! It is finished! Well, I'm stopping myself from fiddling with it any further anyway!

I chose to make the background a dappled yellow to hopefully make it a little brighter and sunny. I've also added whiskers in black pencil and white acrylic paint (much much harder than you would imagine!) to finish it off.

Do you like the yellow? In real life it's not as dark as it is here and is less overpowering. Is it too much? See, now I'm doubting myself...

Overall I'm extremely pleased with it. It's been such a learning curve and an experience for me. I've never drawn an animal this large and in this much detail and in this medium before.
I really hope that his mummy in Australia likes it as much as I do!

p.s. please forgive the awful scan quality. I'm going to scan it again and post that. It will be much better quality.

Jarvis Portrait - Step 7

Little bit more done. Now I just need to make his body in the back look a bit more 3-D and realistic as at the moment it looks a bit odd.

And the major thing I've got to decide about is the background. I'm going to use a simple block colour to start with and then gradiate it out so it's not just the one colour. I have no idea at all at the moment what colour it's going to be. I am so worried I'm going to mess it up!!
